Service Description

YOU AND CII (“WE”, “US”, AND “OUR”) AGREE THAT YOUR ACCESS TO AND USE OF THE WEBSITE DEVELOPED BY CII FOR FUTURE SCIENCE GROUP (“FSG”) LOCATED http://futurescience.enago.com/ AND THE EDITING SERVICES OFFERED THROUGH THE WEBSITE BY CII (THE “SERVICES”) IS SUBJECT TO YOUR AGREEMENT TO THESE TERMS OF SERVICE, WHICH WILL BECOME A BINDING AGREEMENT BETWEEN YOU AND CII (THE "AGREEMENT"). BY ACCESSING THE WEBSITE, YOU ARE BOUND BY THE TERMS MENTIONED IN THIS AGREE MENT. PLEASE READ THESE TERMS CAREFULLY. AFTER READING THE TERMS, IN CASE YOU AGREE TO THEM, PLEASE INDICATE YOUR DECISION BY CHECKING THE BOX "I HAVE READ AND AGREE TO THE TERMS OF SERVICE" ON THE ACCOUNT REGISTRATION PAGE. The Services are available only to persons who can form legally binding contracts under applicable law.

CII may use all Registration Information, subject to CII’s compliance with CII Privacy Policy that can be found here (the "Privacy Policy"). This Agreement includes terms and conditions set forth in the Privacy Policy. By indicating your agreement to this Agreement, you are consenting to have your personal data used by CII as set forth in the Privacy Policy.

Limitation of Liability

Under no circumstances shall CII (USA) or FSG be liable for any losses or damages whatsoever, whether in contract or otherwise, from the use of or reliance on, the materials on the website. CII or FSG shall not be liable for any loss howsoever arising or any indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

While CII and FSG take all necessary precautions to safeguard all submitted documents; they shall not be held liable for the loss of documents due to power failure, hardware/software failure, computer viruses, natural disasters, or any other unforeseen matters and factors beyond our control. You will be responsible for creating back-up and archival copies of your documents. In no event will CII or FSG be responsible to you or any other person for any loss, corruption, or alteration of documents.

CII is only responsible for editing manuscripts as per our service definitions. All views and thoughts expressed in the manuscripts are solely of the writer and members using the service.

Governing Law

Replacement and Cancellation Policy

CII follows a simple policy regarding the replacement and cancellation of the file. This policy will help to minimize the errors for editing the wrong file. The replacement and the cancellation policy are explained below:

Replacement Policy

  • CII does not replace files if they are being revised and sent back for editing.
  • The file can only be replaced if a completely wrong file is being sent for editing.

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellation will only be allowed if the wrong file has been sent for editing.
  • Cancellation must be made by emailing us at corporate@enago.com
  • Replacement of the file after the start of editing is considered as a cancellation of the order.
  • A cancellation fee will be charged if a wrong file is sent and/or replaced with a completely new file.
  • The cancellation fee will be calculated based on amount of work done on the file.

Refund after Cancellation

  • Transfer fees will be deducted from the refund amount. Also, all additional charges for sending the refund back will be deducted from the refund amount.
  • Refund is not possible if any one of the following conditions are met:
    • If the payment is not done using Paypal
    • If the refund amount is less than 100 USD or equivalent
    • Cancellation is after 15 days of placing the order
    • If local invoice with VAT has already been issued
  • In such cases, this amount will be adjusted against future orders.

Journal URL

The responsibility of providing a functional journal guidelines URL for formatting lies with the client. We may or may not get back to you if the journal URL provided by you is inactive or in a language other than English. If the URL requires us to login, please provide the login details.

Quotation

It is deemed that once you have accepted our quotation over e-mail, it is a formal order. You are then liable to make payment for the order even if you disagree with the pricing at a later stage.

An auto-responder from our website is not a confirmation that we have started editing your assignment. We reply to all requests with the exact quotations.

If there is a mismatch between the deadline you have given us and the priority selected, we will give preference to the priority and not the deadline when giving you the pricing details.

For direct TeX editing and for editing a TeX file in MS Word delivery format, we request you to always send us the PDF file along with the TeX file. In case you do not send us the PDF file, we will e-mail you to send us the PDF file. However, if we do not receive the file, we will be unable to send you the quotation or start editing your assignment.

E-mail Address

By providing your e-mail address to us, you give us permission to send you regular updates about our services and company. If you ask us specifically not to send e-mails to you, we will stop sending you e-mails.

If your e-mail address is not functional and we encounter issues such as e-mail bouncing, we are not liable for delivery of your files. We will try and contact you once through the contacts provided by you over e-mail. You need to contact us to receive your edited files in such situations.

Delivery of Files

We always deliver edited documents within the deadline promised to you. In case you do not receive your document, please contact us immediately. In addition, check your junk e-mail folder.

For editing PDF files in a PDF delivery format, we require single-column documents with double spacing. This is because it is difficult to edit files in double column and single space format, as there is not sufficient room for writing and the final markup is often not legible. In case your documents do not meet the abovementioned criteria, we change the delivery file format to MS Word for maintaining the quality of the edited document. This will help you to clearly see the changes made with the help of track changes.

Your Intellectual Property Rights

CII does not make any claims on any work submitted to us for editing. Any documents ("Documents") submitted will remain your intellectual property. Editors have signed a confidentiality agreement to waive their claim to any intellectual property submitted through our service. You represent that you have obtained all necessary third party rights, including (without limitation) copyrights, for any Documents or portions thereof that belong to third parties. It is your responsibility to determine if it is necessary for you to obtain, and for obtaining, any licenses required to use third party content that is part of the Documents. You agree not to use the services for or provide documents with any infringing, illegal, sexually explicit, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or racially, ethnically, or otherwise objectionable material, including (without limitation) any materials that could give rise to any liability to CII or that might adversely affect CII’s public image, reputation, or goodwill.

Indemnification

You hereby agree to indemnify and hold CII and FSG, their respective directors, officers, predecessors, successors in interest, employees, agents, suppliers and licensors harmless from and against any and all third-party claims of liability, losses, damages and costs, including, without limitation, reasonable legal fees, arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use the website or its content, products or services.

Notification Of Changes

CII reserves the right to modify or amend these Terms of Service at any time with or without notifying you of such changes. The changes will only affect your use of the services after the effective date of the change unless we clearly express otherwise. Your use of the services after CII provides you with notice of such changes shall be deemed your approval of such changes.

Destruction Of Documents

CII reserves the right to save documents on its systems according to its policy and UK government regulations for conducting business. If you want us to delete your files specifically from our systems, you need to send us an e-mail stating your need.

Website

This website is owned and operated by CII and is protected by international copyright and trademark laws. You may not modify, copy, reproduce, republish, upload, post, transmit, or distribute in any way, any material from this site, including code and software. You may not download material from this site for your personal, non-commercial use.

Others

CII may, in its sole and absolute discretion, immediately terminate service, should the client's conduct fail to conform to the terms and conditions of our service.

By using our service, the client agrees to be bound by all of the terms and conditions of CII’s service. Should the client object to any such terms and conditions or any subsequent modifications thereto or become dissatisfied with the site in any way, the client's sole recourse is to discontinue his/her use of the site.

Word Count Reduction

1) Word Count Reduction service is provided free up to 10% for Copyediting, and up to 20% for Substantive Editing. For further word count reduction, our Client Servicing Team will inform you about the charges. However, we cannot guarantee that the word count will definitely be reduced. This is because sometimes the scope is limited and we cannot judge the areas a client wants to focus on. In such cases, therefore, we will highlight instances in the manuscript where the author can remove content for word count reduction.

2) The Client Servicing Team will inform you of additional charges if you inform them about the requirement. In case you do not inform them, we may not be able to reduce the word count according to your requirements.

Advance Payment

We request an advance payment of the entire fee of the assignment for all requests to start working on your document. In case advance payment is not made before the delivery of the file or as informed by the Client Servicing Team, we will not deliver the file. However, in certain special cases, CII reserves the right to waive off this clause and can also seek complete or partial payment after the delivery of the edited document.

If for any reasons you are unable to make the payment in advance please contact us in writing mentioning such reasons specifically. We consider genuine reasons and can try making alternative arrangements.

Choosing Your Editor

Existing clients have the option of choosing an editor for future assignments while filling the quotation form. In this scenario, we will try to assign the document to the chosen editor. However, we won’t be able to guarantee that the same editor is chosen as this is contingent on the editor’s availability, type of editing service, etc. In case we cannot give the document to the same editor, our current systems do not allow us to inform you of the non-adherence. Non-selection will not constitute a cancellation of the order or the inquiry.
